OBN (UK) Ltd has re-branded to become BioUK Ltd. Announced at the 20th edition of BioTrinity in London on Tuesday 14th April by Stuart Rose, our CEO, as he opened the conference, this news marks an important and logical milestone in the company’s evolution.

While our roots began as the Oxfordshire Bioscience Network 28 years ago, our growth outside the region prompted a name change back in 2008 to OBN (UK) Ltd. Since then, our national growth has accelerated, and today more than three-quarters of our members are based outside the region. Many people ask us what OBN actually stands for. At the same time, we have become increasingly associated with our events portfolio which includes BioTrinity®, BioForward®, BioSeed®, BioLearn® and BioTuesday (amongst others) – platforms that have long carried the Bio- identity. Harnessing that Bio-prefix and reflecting our nationwide coverage makes changing our name to BioUK logical and brings clarity to a network the UK life science sector already knows and trusts.

This is an evolution, not a change in direction. What’s important to say clearly is this: our mission, values and commitment to you do not change. Nor do the people who work here. We remain focused on catalysing success in UK life sciences through helping our members to create connections, save time & money and secure investment.
